Fresh install can’t automatically connect to WiFi

I’m new to Linux so just a heads up. I did a fresh install of Ubuntu. I have a Asus ryzen 3 laptop. For some reason the OS doesn’t want to automatically work with the wifi.

I installed Ubuntu 18.04 on another pc I have and it will pick up the network via the cable when it wouldn’t pick it up with the newer version.

I need to know if anyone has a clue of what is going on with my broadass description that has very little details.

Basically when I open the settings the OS doesn’t pull in the ip, DNS, or anything. It tries but then fails.

Thank you for anyone willing to help.
