Firefox won't start anymore in Ubuntu 22.04

I'm using Ubuntu 22.04.

Firefox used to work fine when I started it from GUI when attached to a physical box. Now Firefox won't start when I am connected remotely by xrdp. By "won't start" I mean I click on the icon, and a little round spinning cursor appears for about 10 seconds and nothing else happens.

Other apps like Gedit, Calculator, and Disks seem to work fine.

When I try to start Firefox by launching it from the command line, it says:

Gtk-Message: 12:33:40.920: Not loading module "atk-bridge": The functionality is provided by GTK natively. Please try to not load it.Error: cannot open display: :10.0

however it says that both when connected remotely and when I'm directly attached.

I also thought I would uninstall it, but after running sudo apt remove firefox the operation seemingly completed, but then nothing changed. In other words, I could still run or at least try to run Firefox, so obviously I don't know how to uninstall it.
