I bought a new laptop: Dell Vostro 3520 Laptop
with the following CPU:12th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-1255U
And with a preinstalled Ubuntu® 20.04 LTS, 64-bit.
After I connected to the network, then when entering Google Chrome, it showed me that the application is outdated.Downloading the latest version of Google Chrome and then running the .deb file opened nothing. The same thing happened when I tried to go into Ubuntu Software, to try to find an update, so the software just wouldn't open at all.
From reading online, I saw that I had to update the system. So in Software & Updates
app, in Ubuntu Software
, I checked all the boxes and run it to find an update.
This is actually how I successfully updated to Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
.
After the update, the file downloaded from Google's Chrome website ran properly and installed the latest version for me.Ubuntu Software
app also ran properly. So I wanted to make another update, so I opened Software & Updates
and ran it again. It started updating me to Ubuntu 23.10
.
All steps in the update process were completed successfully. When it finished and went to restart, then what came up was the DELL BIOS Setup screen.Even after choosing to exit the screen, the computer returns to the BIOS screen. The same after turning off and on.
In the Boot Configuration, the Boot Sequence is:
ubuntuUEFI RST P41 PL NVMe SOLIDIGM 512GBUEFI HTTPs BootONBORAD NIC (IPV4)ONBORAD NIC (IPV6)
How do I fix this and get back to my operating system?
Thanks.
