Image 1: Terminal with scrollbar position clearly visible
Image 2: Find window has focus, scroll bar still present but barely visible
Image 3: Same as image 2, but with scrollbar highlighted
The ubuntu OS behaviour for scrollbars is that when a window loses focus, the scrollbar becomes fainter
Usually this is fine. Although the colour is fainter, the scrollbar is still clearly visible (presuming it is not completely obscured by whatever window now has the focus)
However for the Terminal the scrollbar becomes so faint compared to the background colour as to be almost invisible
Usually this is not a problem, as in the vast majority of situations knowing where the scrollbar is for a non-focused window is not important
However, when calling the Find window (Ctrl+Shift+F) and cycling between results, I cannot determine the location of a result within the Terminal via the scrollbar position. (If I squint and move my head right up to the monitor I can)
Note the problem persists for different inbuilt colour schemes (on lighter schemes the scrollbar degrades from almost invisible to actually invisible)
Is there any fix?
EDIT: As this question has a downvote, it would be useful if I got some feedback explaining why. Downvotes are useful for questions which are either unclear, not useful, or show no research effort. If the question is unclear please leave a comment explaining which part is unclear so that I may make appropriate changes. If the question is not useful, I disagree. Using the find feature of the gnome terminal in ubuntu is quite common and someone must have faced this problem before.
As for research effort, when I search for an answer most results focus on enabling/disabling the scrollbar which is not relevant for my case. It is possible an answer to my question exists, but it is lost among all those non-relevant results
