The PC was previously used as a Windows 10 machine, and I wanted to install Ubuntu on it. I flashed the ubuntu-22.04.3-desktop-amd64 with balenaEtcher onto a USB and ran the install successfully. At the finish of the install I was asked to press enter after removing the USB device to restart and boot into the system. I did as I was told but I just got the error message above.
The BIOS settings are as follows:
Secure Boot disabled
Launch CSM Never (already tried changing, it did nothing)
Boot Priority Order (Removable Device was 1st during install now changed to the following)
1st Boot Device [Ubuntu]
2st Boot Device [CD&DVD]
3rd Boot Device [Removable Device]
4th Boot Device [LAN]
if I go into Hard Disk Drive Priority it shows:
1st Boot Device [Ubuntu]
On the other options nothing is shown
If I just restart the PC I get the error above. If I try to load boot menu I get the error above. If I stick the USB with the install .iso on it back in I can boot from that with the boot loader and start the installer again.
If it matters, it is an old prebuilt machine called Aspire XC-605.
