Is there a solution for 22.04 and kernel 6.5.0-14(22.04) for users of Nvidia cards using the builtin video driver?

I'm running 22.04 LTS with an Asus NVidia GeForce GT 730. I'm using the Ubuntu provided video driver. Since upgrading my kernel to 6.5, I notice my monitor goes to sleep (power save) mode as soon as the system attempts to display the graphical login screen. Attempting to switch to a character console wakes the monitor but I still have a blank screen. Switching back to the graphical login screen puts the monitor back to sleep.

My current solution is to use my previous 6.2 kernel.

I've been reading in the forums about users having problems with recompiling their driver source, gcc version mismatches v11 (6.2 kernel) vs v12 (6.5 kernel) and some driver source incompatibilities with the new compiler.

I'm wondering how soon users might expect a fix for the stock driver or if we should expect a fix?

Update: I've got a 2nd Linux systems also 22.04 with a GT 610 that has no issues with the latest 6.5 kernel.

Thank you-john

Update: The cmd

"dkms status" returns nothing.

"apt-cache policy gcc-12" returnsgcc-12:Installed: (none)Candidate: 12.3.0-1ubuntu1~22.04
